Analyzing review star ratings is a valuable practice for gaining insights into the public perception of the attraction.

How

Search for the Reviews visualisations in the library and use the studio to configure what metrics and insights you are after.

Your depending on your system, these reviews might be coming from Google or another data source.

Example insights to look at

Overall Star Rating

Start by looking at the overall star rating. This is a quick indicator of how visitors generally perceive the attraction. Higher ratings usually suggest satisfaction, while lower ratings may signal areas for improvement.

Analyze how the star ratings have changed over time. Are they improving, declining, or remaining stable? Identifying trends can help attractions understand the impact of changes or improvements.

Review Volume

Consider the number of reviews. A high number of reviews may provide a more reliable representation of the attraction's performance. Select "COUNT" function to get to the number of ratings.

Filtering

Find reviews with specific themes and or keywords. Use the FILTER box to query

  • Analyze star ratings for specific attractions or exhibits or experiences within the larger venue. This can help identify which areas are more or less popular.

  • Search for specific themes and key words.

    • Maybe you want to know the distribution of reviews that mention food. Simply write the desired DxQL query to get to your insights. For example: review LIKE '%Cafe%' AND review LIKE '%food%' AND review LIKE '%restaurant% AND review LIKE '%drink%

Not sure who to write queries? Check out DxQl filter syntax an examples document.
